I am a very opinionated person. However, most of the time, I stay moderate in discussion because I hate pointless confrontation more than I care about my opinions. So, in case anyone was wondering, here are some things that I think about.
1. Audrey Hepburn is the most beautiful woman ever. I know this is bold, and I haven't seen every girl in the world (unlike Weezy), but I think that the way that she carried herself, her classic look, and immaculate body/face could never be beaten. Her demeanor is the epitome of what I want my wife to be, obviously I am not expecting to marry someone as pretty as her, but I will marry someone that holds herself like Ms. Hepburn.
2. I hate that I can't have school pride. When you go to Harvard, you aren't allowed to 'rep' your school once you leave campus, because it comes off as being cocky. I can't be as crazy as many of my friends when it comes to school pride, even though I believe that I am much more proud of being a part of my school's institution and history. It really kills me that I can't be openly proud, except around close friends and family.
3. Staying on the topic of school, the two things I think that I hate most in life are when people say, "Well excuse me, I can't help that I don't go to Harvard" and when they pronounce it "Hahvahd," which asininely assumes that all people that attend Harvard are pricks, cocky, and speak pretentiously. If you are around me, please don't do this, because it really bugs me. I never say anything, but trust me, I recognize what just occurred.
4. Disney movies/music is the bomb.com. Period. End of discussion. I have a Disney playlist on iTunes, and a Disney station on Pandora.com. My favorite movie is by far A Goofy Movie, but of course the classics are amazing: The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Pocahontas, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, The Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book, and Tarzan, to name a few. Anyone that disagrees either isn't man enough to admit it, or has vision/aural problems.
5. I love words with silent letters at the beginning, so when spelling something orally, it confuses people. For example, 'p' as in 'pterodactyl' is my favorite. Other examples are: aisle, csar, djembe, euphoric, gnome, hour, knife, mnemonic, opossum, pneumonia, tsunami, and wrestle.
6. Staying with words, I am not the most grammatically correct person by any stretch, but something that bothers me is adverb usage. It really isn't that much more difficult to add an 'ly' when describing a verb, adjective, or another adverb. For example, one can be safe, but one cannot drive safe. One can only drive safeLY. In this same vein, since fun is a noun, you aren't grammatically supposed to say that something was really fun, since really is an adverb. However, this is said so frequently, that I don't even know if English teachers would care anymore. However, I always attempt to say that something was many funs, much fun, or a lot of fun - and yes, I know that many funs makes me sound pretentious, but most people already think that, so I don't care.
7. Sporcle.com - check it out. Greatest procrastination tool ever.
8. My favorite ways to relax are golfing and playing the piano. Golf is the only thing in which my brother and I can participate, but not compete, and for that I am very grateful. We take in the beauty of the game and (depending on the location) the scenary. I also love playing with Adam Greene, usually as Lake Jonesco, because we always have a great time during our shenanigans. Playing piano, on the other hand, is something that I love doing alone, as I believe music is the greatest panacea on Earth. Playing music is spiritual and can calm me when I am in the worst of moods. Additionally, playing music and having people sing along, specifically my mother, is something I think all people should experience.
9. My favorite television shows: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Jeopardy, Entourage, House, Hell's Kitchen, The Office, and The League.
10. Also, in contrast to most people, I believe numbers to be beautiful. They are the basis of life and I can only see them as the magnificent things that they are. I think numbers can be more powerful than any words ever could, but only for the right people, in the right circumstance. I think in numbers, I relate them to the words I hear, say, and see. This is why writing, speaking, and reading don't come uber-naturally to me. Additionally, because of this, it is super hard for me to imagine a picture in my head. However, integrals and derivatives seem second natured. A few of my favorites: 7, 1, 3, and 51. And as for an example of what I mean when I say I think in numbers, when the concept of love or togetherness is brought up, it often involves numbers that are symmetrical, like 22 or 717. Don't ask me why, I wish I would think less numerically, but it often allows me to see things that I would otherwise overlook, (and overlook things I would otherwise see).
So that is what I've been pondering lately. Perhaps I'm crazy, but it is just how I am.
